The Grand Grand Canyon

So when I first got back from Australia, I heard my brother, Devin, say that they were going to go to the Grand Canyon during his fall break.  When I was in Australia, I hated that I had lived so close to the Grand Canyon and never went, so it was on my list of things to do right away when I got back.  So naturally, I invited myself and my family to go on their family trip.  It was a very spontaneous thing, and I did forget that we had just moved half way around the world and had to re-set up house for the second time in two years and taking a big family trip to the Grand Canyon probably wasn't the most timely thing, but boy am I glad we did.  We had so much fun and really appreciate Devin and his family letting us tag along and crash their party and we also appreciate all the fun things they planned for us to do!

I am jealous we couldn't get ourselves organized enough to join them in Zions on the way down to Williams, Arizona, but we weren't.  We made it to Williams around 1 am!

The house we were staying at, that Devin so graciously found for us, had a pretty cool backyard.  Which I am very glad of, since we still weren't organized in the morning.  Devin and Joslyn patiently waited for us to get our act together and the kids had fun playing in the backyard.

The Myla-nator Alligator, such a cute little toddler!

 These two, loving the trampoline.
These three making some sort of concoction.

Here is the view from the house, I thought it was absolutely beautiful!!

We finally got ourselves organized and made it to the Grand Canyon!  Cory wore this baby harness for about 5 minutes, but I always have to capture moments like that on film!

I'll admit going to a big hole in the ground with potential drop offs and what not was a little bit stressful with 7 kids 7 and younger.  But it turned out alright, we didn't lose anyone!  :)

 Little boy heaven!
 Ta da!
The vastness is really quite breath taking and impossible to capture in a picture!  That is why we went!

This picture of Will high centered on this rock cracks me up!
So does this little Lily poser!  They were enjoying themselves!

When did these three get so big?  Oh yeah, in Australia!  Everything gets big there! :)

Not only was the hole awesome but the skies were pretty amazing too!

 And add Sofie.

Lots of climbing to be done.

 These three!

We sat down to eat lunch in this cool little amphitheater.

Little did we know, that we would be sharing with these little chipmunks whether we wanted to or not.  They were way too comfortable for my liking.  Very bold little things.  This one tried helping itself to our picnic.
With lots of kids, plenty of food dropped.

Will loved the little squirrels or chipmunks, whatever they were, but one tried taking his apple right out of his hands!!  The nerve!
 Little punks!
There it is in all it's glory!
 The whole group.

We continued on to many other views.  Bus rides were so much fun for the kids.

It really was a great day in a great place!  So happy to be able to cross that off my bucket list and to have done it with such great people!
