The Australian Bush and the Fake Lake

So we have had a lot of rain this summer season and it has created a bunch of lakes where there wouldn't be otherwise.  The other day we decided to go check one out.  It was also our first time getting out of town to just explore the Bush.  We went with some members from our branch and they were gracious enough to let us use their dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. It was a lot of fun!  We also came back with some great Kalgoorlie souvenirs, red dirt stained clothes!

Here is Lily swimming in the Fake Lake, being a mud monster.
Here is Ava having a great time swimming. She loved it the most!
Even Cory got in, in his clothes, then I told him that I had brought his swimming suit.  Haha!
Will could not get enough of this squishy, red mud!

 Sweet little Ava.
Even I was getting into it.

Will kept putting mud over one eye.  I washed it off so many times, but he kept putting it right back.

Does he not just look like a cute little puppy?
Here is Ava on the 4 wheeler, she wouldn't ride it for real though because she is kind of a scaredy cat.  But Lily and Will had lots of fun riding around on it!
It was a pretty fun little outing to the bush and it was seriously only a kilometer out of town!  So that was nice! We'll have to go out again sometime.

Harmony Day Lunch

So Thursday, March 21st, was Harmony Day.  Who knew, right?  It's kind of like how every month is some kind of awareness month, but I never know it!  Not even exactly sure what Harmony day really means or signifies, I figured it was about harmony toward everyone and everything, all I know is that I got to go to school and eat lunch with Lily.  It was pretty fun! :)

Here is Lily eating her lunch.
Here is Will, not eating his lunch.
And here is Ava drinking her lunch, that's all she had was the juice box!
I was trying to get a pic with Lily and Will together, but look at Will, he was not having it!
Here we all are.  The whole crew.

Here are all the kiddos playing in the sand pit by Lily's classroom.

Lily had to go back to class, so we started heading out and got distracted by the other things and play grounds on the way.

Here is Ava in front of the board with her classes contribution to the Harmony Day decorations.  The little person with her name on it is the third girl from the top on the left.  I even volunteered in Ava's class the day they made these and I made those little people.  So it's my great art also!!  Haha!  LOL! Oh, and for some reason orange is the color of harmony.
I hope that you all feel more harmonious after reading this post!  ;)

Fairy tales, Myths and Legends

There is the most fabulous woman in my branch here in Kalgoorlie.  Her name is Candice and my first week at church she befriended me and has really looked out for my social life here in Kalgoorlie.  Candice has come over to my house with her kids for playdates and she has even come to pick me and my kids up to take us to playdates, the store or the park since I don't have a car.  Candice has picked up groceries for me when I needed them.  Candice has invited me to her social events so I could make more friends.  She has just been an all around amazing friend and great example of charity.  Through Candice, I have been able to make more friends and feel connected.

Well Candice and her two good friends, (who are also my friends too, thanks to Candice!) Tiff and Ari, celebrated their birthdays last night at a giant costume party with the theme, Fairy tales, myths and legends.  It was an amazing event.  Candice and Tiff made all of the decor and the cakes and a lot of the costumes people were wearing!

Here is a picture of the fancy invites they sent out for the event.

So I decided since it was a costume party I was going to make our family have themed costumes.  I have always wanted to do this for Halloween, but never have, so now was my chance for a costume party in March. I decided we would do a pirate theme.  So the girls were mermaids, I was a pirate wench, originally I wanted Will to be a parrot, but that costume never materialized, so he wore his pirate towel and I got Cory a pirate hat, that's all I could get him to do!  Unfortunately, I was working with very limited funds, so things couldn't be too extravagant.  So I got real creative and very frugal.  I found some super cheap fabric on ebay for the girls mermaid tales and my costume came strictly from things that I already had!

Here are the girls mermaid tales.

I wasn't kidding about the fabric being cheap, look how see through it is!!

 Cute little pink mermaid Ava.

 Cute little purple mermaid Lily.

Here they are together.  What cuties!  They both kept calling their mermaid tops their "bras." At the party, Ava's had fallen all the way down and she was looking around for it and when she found it she was like, Oh there's my bras.

Here is my git up.  Not bad for scraping it together, right?

Check out all of this fabulous decor at the party that Candice and Tiff made!!  So impressed!

Will wasn't so sure about entering.  He stood at the doorway forever!

This was a huge castle that Candice and Tiff made and it was full of toys for the kids!  It was awesome!

Here is more of the decor.  Ava wanted a picture with it but she was a little scared.
Here are the three cakes for the birthday girls!  Pretty amazing, right?
More decor.  This nest was full of balloons for eggs.  It was a hit!

 Another picture of the castle.

Here is one birthday girl, Tiff.  She looks just like a princess, it was seriously almost as good as Disneyland!

This is Tiff's husband, Sam. Is that not hilarious?  He's Cinderella's fairy godmother.

Here is Candice, another birthday girl.
Here's Candice's husband Ben, or I mean, Heman!  Love that wig!
Here is Ava in the chicken wire dress.
And here is Eva in the chicken wire dress.
Here's Candice's darling daughters, Jaslyn and Sienna.

The two birthday princesses having a laugh.
The girls swinging from the decor like they were vines.  When the music started they went bananas!

Will joined in too, but he was a little destructive, look at the piece on the ground behind him, yeah that was his fault.
 Fleeing the scene!
 Candice with her girls. Adorable!
All three birthday girls in front of their cakes.
 That one's better.

I had to take a picture of the photographer's sweaty back!  LOL!  He was working hard!  And it was hot in there!

There were quite a few Cleopatra Egyptian girls, like this cutie, Eden.
And grown up Eden, I was going to put big Eden, but that didn't sound right for someone so small!
Here's us, the whole pirate crew.  Cory's head was even too big for the hat I got!  Haha!

Here is a picture of all the girls at the party.

And here are a few videos of the wild dancing that was going on at the party.

Wild night in Kal!
