July School Holidays: Week 2

July school holidays continued as they started.  Lots of playing and relaxing.  On Sunday afternoon, we had an open house...so we stayed at the chapel for ages until it was over.  Lily and Ava and Will were putting on performances on the stage.  And Lily was able to recite her entire poem for her classes assembly item that they are performing this term, all from memory!  She's only read the poem a couple of times and she already has it memorized!  Photographic memory, that girl, I'm telling ya!

When we got home the girls wanted to play play dough and Lily said since it was Sunday, they were only going to sculpt spiritual items.  Here is Lily and Ava's play dough nativity scene.  :)  It's adorable!

I was out hanging up the wash and when I came back Lily and Ava had put Sofie in her bumbo seat.  I just can't believe she's big enough for this!  She doesn't seem too impressed....but she'll grow to love it, right?
There was a lot of time spent loom banding!  Loom band mania!!!!

The first week was super cold, but this last week was beautiful!  Out on a bike ride.  Lily is so much faster than the others. Will needs a proper bike, then I think he could keep up!  :)

When these girls are off school, there are lots of arts and crafts going on.  Ava is a very talented painter.  I love her concentration.

We put on the girls fancy fake nails that grandma had brought with her but didn't have time to do with them before she left.  Lily loved them...Ava not so much. She put them on one hand then just peeled them all off!

 Ava's one hand.
Lily loved how she could put these nails together and spell love!
Sofie just hanging out, being cute while we played just dance.

 Double chins, yes please!

This guy loves having his older sisters around!  He follows Lily every where and does exactly what she is doing with no shame at all.  He doesn't even try to hide that he is mimicking her.  It's adorable.

Big sister time for little sister.  Sofie loves having them around also.  :)

Making fairy toast for breakfast.  The girls made the American flag on their toast...maybe they're secretly telling us something.  :)

Oh, only Ava could look so cute with such crooked bangs!  I love her.
 Ava butterfly!  With big eyes!!

Cutest little butterfly I've ever seen!
Tea parties with all their favorite friends!

Of course, Lily and Ava didn't want to leave Sofie out!

Is that not the chubbiest looking baby you ever did see??
The last two days of school holidays we had play dates!  I didn't take any pictures, except for this one of the two sleeping babes.  On Monday, July 21, we had our favorite family the Gregor's over, Ali, Lachie, Annabelle, Isaac and Natalie and one on the way!!  The kids had so much fun playing while Ali and I had so much fun chatting!

Then the next day we had Nykell and her twin boys over one last time before she moved back to Utah.  So we had a few other friends over as well to say goodbye!  Candice and her four kids and Georgie and her two kids.  It was fun!
These little sleeping angels were born one week apart!
It seems like Sofie grew up quite a bit over the school holidays.  She is so much more alert now, and really seeing what she is looking around at.  She recognizes faces, especially the ones she sees frequently, like all her siblings.  :)

Then it was back to school...for a few weeks anyway.  Until we find out where we are moving to!

July School Holidays: Week 1

Oh what do you do in the Winter time when all the world is green?  At first, I wasn't too sure about this winter without snow business!  I thought, what is the point of it being cold if there is no snow?  But now, it's grown on me a bit and I find it quite nice to still be able to send my kids out to ride their bikes and what not, in the winter!

I thought that these school holidays we would be packing up and at least moving house, if not moving cities, or countries!  Since Cory finished up work at KK Machinery on July 2nd and school holidays started on the 4th.  I was hoping we would soon find answers on where the future would take us, as in, either another job here in Kalgoorlie, a job in Perth or a job elsewhere in America.  But for the entire two and a half week holiday nothing became real clear on where we were headed for the future.  So with nobody in school and dad not working, we just relaxed...or in other words we were real lazy!  Sleeping in was a regular thing and getting dressed during the day was completely optional!  I think we all needed that kind of break.  It was fantastic.

Well, I suppose we weren't nothing but lazy.  We did have our fair share of house showings and open houses to clean for.  Here we are playing at the park during an open house.

How cheekalicious is that Sofie??

Cute guy, kept calling for help cause the dinosaur was eating him!

Ava opted to go to a friend's house rather than clean.  Which was fine with me, they either need to help clean or stay out of the way when we have a showing coming up!  So I just had these three!  A combination I don't think I'd done before.  It was fun!

They had some new baby kangaroos at the park that day.

I feel like Sofie aged heaps over the school holidays.

So one day I heard the girls outside playing a game, just cracking up over toilet words...sigh, they are at that age that no matter what you say, they will still say potty words and just think they are hilarious!  Well the next morning, I went out to hang up the washing and I found this lovely message.
I knew I should go inside and reprimand Lily, but I couldn't stop cracking up either.  I'm just as bad as the kids!  Guess it tells you what level my humor is on!  Anyways, I did go in and ask Lily about it.  Luckily, it wasn't directed at anyone except the imaginary teacher in their imaginary game???

We had a friend who previously lived in Kalgoorlie but had moved on to Perth, come back for a Kalgoorlie visit.  So we met up with her at Hammond Park, again.  It was a good catch up, but it was frigidly cold that day.  Don't let the sunshine fool you!  I only took a few pictures and all of Will, apparently.

It seemed like we had spent entirely too much time cooped up in the house one day, so at dusk, I decided we were going to walk to a nearby park to get some exercise and some energy out.  Those are my three big kids running to the park.
 Here's the little pram rider.
One of my young women had spent the day at our house just watching movies and hanging out since her sister was in hospital and her mom was there too.  So we braided the girls hair in little tiny braids.
Lily loved it...Ava not so much!
The kids loved our outing to the park so much that night, that the next morning they wanted to go straight back.  So we all walked there, even dad.  Here is Will just taking a little break on the short walk.  Just hanging out, throwing rocks and being a boy.

 So very Australian!!

 Hanging out in the tree.

The girls each got their share of Sofie snuggles.
 Ava's bangs look classic here!
We moved Will into his big boy bed.  The first night was too good to be true.  He just went straight to bed and didn't get up til the morning.  But then the second night was a nightmare!  Out of bed all night long!  So I decided to put him back into the crib since Sofie was still in her bassinet.  Well, Will took this moment to decide he could and he would climb out of his crib (he had never done it previously!)  So then we were doomed.  We had a few nights and early mornings of this until we just decided to lock him in his room.  So that is what we did and it has been a dream ever since. :)

I wanted to take a picture of Will on his big boy bed, but he wouldn't get on it.  Until I found him like this!  He has some unconventional methods, but he takes care of his own business and I don't have to change his smelly bum anymore!  So I'll take it!  Such a big boy now!
Lily left her braids in for two days.  Here is her fancy hair do.  You can't really tell but it is fabulously crimped!

Ah, the carefree life of a little girl, dress ups and crazy hair!
One of the young women in the ward turned 18.  So we went to her birthday bash.  I forgot what an amazing and adorable dancer Lily is.  All the kids were busting a move...even Will.  You all would melt for his dance moves.  He totally feels the rhythm.

And that wraps up the first week of school holidays.  Pretty relaxing!  :)
