I started out by running up to the temple. It was a beautiful run! I am so excited to live near a temple again...literally only 2 miles away! Amazing!!
Here's the view from the temple.
Such a cool place!
Then that afternoon, we decided to try out the city zoo again. It was pretty fun for a $1.50 a piece I suppose.
Will was more excited about the decorations than the animals.
The fox and the monkeys were the most exciting animals there.
The rest were mostly just birds.
We did get quite a show when this independently contracted birds of prey guy was showing off his falcon. He release it to show how quick they can dive down or something, and it was quick and snagged herself a zoo duck and ripped it's head off! Luckily the kids didn't see the gory details and weren't really paying all that much attention either. It was quite entertaining for Cory and I, however!
After the zoo, we did more playing at the parks. It's hard not to when you're surrounded by them!
My big kids!
Sometime during this weekend, Cory captured this sweet little scene.
I was really missing family and was so happy that a lot of them decided to come up and join us for conference on Sunday. We had my parents, my brother Neal, and my brother, Devin and his wife, Joslyn and their three girls all come up. They arrived just at the end of the first session, so we hit up the parks and the surrounding beauty, then settled in for the second session followed by a delicious dinner made mostly by Cory. He tried out his new smoker.
Unfortunately, I only got a few pics of their visit. But it was a most wonderful time! I really loved it and needed it!
Feeding the ducks.
And showing a little crack! That jacket Cambry is wearing used to be Lily's, then Ava's and that backside view is making me feel nostalgic for my older girls' younger days...crack and all! (Both Lily and Ava were notorious for showing a little plumbers crack!) We love you, Cambry!!My mom had all these girls coloring with her while we listened and watched. I love it!
We had this jello salad for our meal, and I had to photograph it and send it to my very best friends in Australia who I made it for on a regular basis.
A few random cute pics of my Sofie!
And the Lily and Ava's conference notes. My, how I love them!
This is not a conference note, but a hilarious picture of a unicorn with a sobering reminder that freedom isn't free, drawn by our one and only Ava! I love her and her drawings!
It was a most wonderful and much needed weekend!
