Elfis and the Frozen Princess

I don't know what possessed me to volunteer to direct the school play... but I did.  As stressful and crazy as it was, it was a really great experience for me.  I enjoyed it a lot and I would do it again in a heartbeat.  It was also a positive experience for Lily.  She really shone in her role of Flake, the flaky rambunctious snowflake.  I am so grateful for the experience and all the volunteers who helped and children who participate.  We had two day time performances and two night time performances.

All my snowflakes lined up ready to go.
My snow women and geese lined up.
 My reindeer hosts.
 Backstage craziness!
 Halle, our awesome iceburgermeister.

The royal men. I mean, boys. King and princes.

These two were so great in their rolls.  Perfect openers!
 Here's my clever geese.
The opening song, the Festival.  It was awesome!  Those kids sang and danced so well to it!

The snowflake scene.  I love all these cute little snowflakes!

 Especially my silly girl!

It was extremely challenging to find a part and a roll for all the kids who wanted to participate.  I didn't have the heart to turn any away, and I'm so glad I included them all and found parts for them all.
They all shone brilliantly in the performances!  Made it all worth it.
It was such a cute play too with a great message, yet keeping it non religious.  Which sadly is a requirement these days at schools.

Here's the whole group, look at Lily with her hands in the air!  Haha!  She was really enjoying herself.  I just love these kids.  The musical numbers were all really fun!  I didn't realise what a huge undertaking and just how many kids I was responsible for every afternoon for two months until I saw this picture at the end!  I am a crazy person!  But I seriously would do it again!

 My snowflakes.
 My royalty.
The abominable snow princess and her minions.
 My villagers.
 The cute snow women.
 My crazy geese!
 One more snow woman.
I loved this play and the experience.  It was such a great growing experience for me and I hope that the kids enjoyed it as much as I did.  :). Perfect addition to our crazy holiday season.
