Labor Day Hike

I'd been dying to get up into the mountains since I got back to Utah.  I thought Labor Day would be a perfect time to go.  Think again, the mountains on Labor Day are like Disneyland during Spring Break!  So many people!  I couldn't believe the crowds, in the mountains, where you go to get away from that sort of thing!  So from now on, I'm going to avoid the mountains on holidays and go when most people are working!

My parents, and brothers all joined us.  My mom suggested Battle Creek Falls and my dad brought the rappelling gear.  It was a pretty great little hike to an awesome waterfall.

The whole crew at the trail head.
 On our way.
All our little hikers, Vienna, Cambry, Will, Lily, Ava.  They were pretty good.  As long as Will had his goldfish.  Great face, by the way, Will!!
 Bridge shot.
 Goldfish pit stop.
Lily and her large hiking stick...and her sneaky little sister...what is that face, Ava?  Hahaha!
Sofie was a great little pack rider.
I'm not sure if any of these kids know what they're supposed to do in a picture!  Haha, do they not all look pretty dazed? They're all still pretty cute!
 Loving nature!
 Still going!  Almost there!
Made it! Battle Creek Falls, our destination!
Best part about making it to the destination, snack time!

 And selfie time!

He just can't quit with the goldfish!
Cambry was doing art work with the rocks.
These girls were building a bathroom in that tree, I think...

My dad hooked up the ropes and the rappelling was on! Here I go!

It's been years!  But I still got it!  ;)  It was quite thrilling!
 Neal taking a turn.
 Devin
And my old man!  He's still got it!  :)
Grandma with the kids.  I mean, seriously, do you see all those people in the background?  Nuts, absolutely nuts!
I love this picture of these handsome boys...even if Will has a super messy face!
 More bridge shots!

Found this cool little cave on the way down.  Full of cute little cave dwellers.

Despite the crowds, it was a great hike and a great day!
