Sara's Grand Farewell Weekend: Part 2

After a great night sleep, (and I mean GREAT!) we woke up refreshed and ready to see Perth.  Sara wanted to go to the beach and see the ocean before she went home.  So that it where we headed first to a beautiful little beach at Hilary Harbour called, Sorrento Beach.

Though this picture is blurry, I still don't think you can get more picturesque than that!  Love the white sail boat on the blue ocean!
There's a clear picture, gorgeous right?  I want to print that picture right onto a canvas and hang it on my wall!

It really was a beautiful beach.
And for some reason it put us all in the mood for yoga.

We had like a full on yoga class going on after a while.  ;)

I wasn't kidding when I said full on!!!

So perhaps we got a little carried away!  :)
There were some brave boogie boarders.  Not because of the waves, but because of the freezing coldness!

Another great view of awesome Sorrento Beach.  :)
Selfie of all three of us!  :)
Lena decided we should take some corny sister pics.  LOL!

Then I decided to get real corny!
Sara made me get in a photo with it.  I guess if I'm going to be corny, I gotta own it!
So Sara decided to write in the sand also.  Any guesses?

 I love Australia!  Who doesn't???
Then we attempted a jumping picture.  Oh boy, so many hilarious things about these pictures.  But I will just say that I don't know why I think that jumping and opening your mouth go hand in hand.  I'm going to remember that for my next jumping photo shoot, you don't have to open your mouth every time you jump!  ;)
Or put your hands up in a ridiculous fashion!  Haha!

Love the old man in the background of this one.  He just went for it!  A refreshing morning dip in the ocean!

After that we went over to the harbor side where there were a bunch of shops and restaurants.  It was so cute!  And the weather really couldn't have been more perfect.

Here we all are sitting on the dock.

We decided that Sara needed to have a good fish 'n' chips before she left.  So we got an order of one to share since it wasn't even lunch time yet and we were far from hungry since the Hemi's had made us breakfast of the most giant pancakes I have ever seen.  But here are the fish and chips and can I just say, they were amazingly delish!!!!  In fact, I am totally craving some as I write this! (It doesn't help that it is fast Sunday!)
Here is Sara and myself with our maiden fish 'n chips.  Did I mention that I hadn't ever had any either?  Also, these dock photos are at a very bad angle for me and very unflattering, but Sara looks adorable so I decided to sacrifice for her!  :)
Here are our feet hanging off the dock.
This place would be fun to come to in the summer.  Do you see that floating island out there with the slides on it?  And on the beach there is a play ground.  It just looked like a fun place to come back to with the kids.

Here is Sara dipping her feet in the water.  She is just so cute!

Here are the crayons in the water.  Maybe only Devin will get that.  :)
Here's the dock we were eating on.
Sadly, we didn't get any chocolate from  this Chocolateria, but maybe that is because when Lena first read the sign she said the word Chocolateria more like diarrhea or chocolarrhea.  We got kinda turned of by it.

Here's the fish bar that we did get our grub at.

After that it was time to shop!  We went to this awesome shopping center called Harbourtoun.  It was amazing!  After being deprived in Kalgoorlie for months it was hard not to go too crazy!  It was like a City Creek kind of out door mall.  They had some great deals.  We also stopped and picked up, Chloe, so she could come and shop with us.  Chloe is a young woman in our ward who was at a hospital in Perth for 6 weeks because she has a rare brain condition. So we thought it would be good for her to get out of there for an afternoon.  We all had fun shopping.  Here we are dropping Chloe back off at the hospital.  Chloe and Lena are both sporting their new $1 shades.

Here were some sweet shoes at the converse store.
Then, it was time to go.  :(  Lena and I had to make the 6 hour drive back to Kalgoorlie so we needed to get going.  Here we are saying goodbye to our lovely host, Sister Hemi.  She was such a lovely lady and I am so grateful to her for not only letting us stay with her but also for letting Sara stay with her an extra day and arranging for Sara to get a ride to the airport since I couldn't stay and take her myself.  I just love being a member of this gospel.  The fellow members will never hesitate to help you out and they always go above and beyond what needs to be done.  I also love that you may be strangers but you are treated like family, and by the end of your time together you do feel like family.  I will never forget Sister Hemi's kindness.

Here I am saying good bye to Sara.  I knew when Lena was taking this picture that it was going to turn out funny looking.  True heart felt hugs always do.  But I don't care!  I love Sara so much and I am so happy that she came to live with us for a short time.  Sara truly blessed the lives of our family and the lives of those in the ward family here and we are glad that we got her for a little while.   We love you, Sara!

  1. Haha, I was dying of laughter on the jumping pictures. Lily will be so sad that she missed those crayons. Maybe she see them in the summer sometime.
