July School Holidays

So the girls recently had a two and a half week break from school.  And it is winter here and the kids were all sick for a majority of the school holiday.  So we didn't do anything too exciting or amazing.  We just laid low, relaxed and tried to get better before school was supposed to start again.

There were some days that we had great weather.  Here we are having a picnic at the park.
Gotta love Lily's smiles these days!  LOL!

One day, the girls said they wanted to make gingerbread houses and I thought, why not?  It is winter here.

Sorry, I got a kick out of all of these pictures of Lily pointing to the gingerbread house!

They each made some gingerbread girls too.

So then, that night after we had made the gingerbread houses and people this happened, here in Kalgoorlie! Bringing on the Christmas in July!
Say what??  It was a massive hail storm!!  It looks just like snow!  Haha!  It was great!

Lily got to change her earrings during the holiday.  She couldn't wait to put in her dangly ones.

Love that cheeser and all those big teeth!
We visited dad's workplace one afternoon.  The kids always love going there because there are $50,000 toys that are so fun.

Here is Will using the CB receiver as a phone.
Hello:)

Taking a ride.
One Saturday morning a guy from our ward showed up at 9 am and said he was going to help Cory put this play house together that has been disassembled and in our garage for weeks.  It took them all day but it got done!  And we are so glad that Jared Goodlet came to help or that play house would probably have never been reassembled.
Will thought he was very much a part of the process.  He loved the drills.
Here is the finished product.  The girls and I are excited to give it a face lift in the form of new paint. We'll have to post pictures when we actually do it.  :)

Here are some pictures of the inside.
Here's their fully stocked fridge.

Here is handsome Will in the morning one day when he wouldn't change out of his church shirt and vest so he slept in them.  I thought it was too cute.

During the time off school, Lily informed me that she has hardly any jeans and that we needed to go jean shopping.  So my friend, Ali and I, decided to go on an Op Shop rampage.  There are about 6 here in town and we decided to start on one end and see how far we could get.  Ali and I took a deep breath and we took our 7 children all 7 years old and younger to 3 op shops, 1 Kmart and 1 grocery store and we accomplished our goal and more.  Plus, it was so enjoyable and so much fun!
Here are 4 of the 7 all squished into one cart.

All my kids love to wrestle.

Ava just laughs as the other two pummel her!

One night, I took them all to get ice cream cones at McDonald's while dad did bishop stuff.
Look at Will's amazing nap hair.

Ava being cute on a shopping outing with me.  :)
There are seriously tons of parks here in town.  So I decided to see if we could go to all of them.  So far we have been to two new parks.  I may be able to make it to all of them by the time we move.  :)  Here's one.

This car was a huge hit.
Lily built a sand castle.

Love these two sisters.
Not sure if this video will work, but if it does I feel like I should explain that we had been watching Megamind a lot at this time.  That is why the girls are singing Crazy Train by Ozzy Osborne.

Here is our other new park experience.  This one is just right around the corner from us and we never knew it.

This thing was a big hit.  I got on the other frog and it was an exciting ride for all!

That is about all of our happenings during the July School holidays.

  1. Will looked so old in the tractor-thingy. It looked like Ava thought she was queen sitting on a throne in the pics of her in the tractor. The playhouse looks awesome and it seems like the kids will have a lot of good times in there. I was surprised how similar will looked to my baby pictures in the pic right after the playhouse pics. Loved all the pics. We love you guys.

  4. It must not be too cold at the park with Ava wearing shorts and sandals, or else Ava is one crazy girl! I think we are definitely NOT coming to visit you guys in July! Miss you and love you. Give all the kids hugs. Their hug picture is on the wall as you go down the stairs, so I get a hug from them every time I go downstairs.
