Ava's 3rd Birthday

So I am going back in time.  I just unloaded my camera and I thought I would go back and blog everything that was on there.  We'll see how long it takes and if I really blog everything on there.  So here is Ava's 3rd birthday!

Ava wanted a Power Puff Girls cake, so I know you can hardly see, but for those of you familiar with the Power Puff Girls, that is a figurine of Bubbles on top.  Also, for those of you who don't know, Ava is Bubbles. 

Here is the fabulous rainbow cake that I had so much fun making.  My layers were a little uneven, thus resulting in a lopsided cake and I messed up the frosting it called for (which was probably for the best since it had like 6 sticks of butter in it!) so it needed a whole lot more white frosting between the layers to make the colors really pop.  If you want to know what it really should of looked like, you can just go to pinterest and look up rainbow cake and you will see a perfect version of this!  Also, look at that Bubbles doll, are those eyes not so Ava??

Now onto the pinata!  It has kind of become a tradition to get a pinata for Ava's birthday (okay so we did it last year too!)  since her birthday is around the same time as Cinco de Mayo.  And I thought it was one of those pinatas where you pull the ribbons hanging down and eventually one would make the bottom give way and everything would come out, but....

and finally had to resort to a PVC pipe, since, of course, we don't have a normal bat or anything like that!  And yes, the candy did eventually come out!
