I told the girls it was our anniversary, so they put together a fancy restaurant for Cory and I to dine at that evening. They worked together on it all afternoon and there is no other place I would have rather eaten on that day. :)
Here is the sign at the front of the restaurant. They asked me to write for them, but they came up with the name and what to say! Too cute!
Here was our romantic table setting.
Our awesome menus.
Lily and Ava picked out our clothes. They said it was important that we look our best for the restaurant. Ava took this picture.
We were greeted at the doorway by our waitress and chef.
Lily, the chef, hard at work in the kitchen. And Ava the waitress, putting her face on her serving tray. We pretended not to see such poor hygiene. ;)
Lily was so cute. She wanted to make sure that I could stay sitting the whole time, so she had me write down a step by step process of how to make taco salad. And she did a magnificent job putting it all together.
I mean, does that not look appetizing? Ava did such a good job serving us our food. :) It was so much fun going to Lily and Ava's Romantic Restaurant. We give it a 5 star rating. :)
After dinner we put the kids to bed and had a few of the young women in the ward come over and baby sit while we went to a movie. It was great! It was a wonderful anniversary. Here are some pictures from a little slide show I put together for Cory to try and capture the last 8 years.

Now on to 2014! Can't wait to see what this year, and many more have in store for us! I love you, Cory! Thanks for sharing and building a life with me. It's been a good 8 years! We've been very blessed.
P.S. The next morning I went outside and found this note written in sidewalk chalk from Lily. You can't really read it, but the thought was nice. It says things like, happy anniversary and I love you and stuff like that. She is a very sweet girl.

i loved this post! first of all I love that adorable restaurant your girls put on for you!! how responsible and thoughtful to make you a romantic restaurant!! second, that was so fun to watch your marriage and family grow. What a beautiful family you have! I'm so glad you guys found each other, and kept each other. And you guys seriously make the cutest kids!! I hope you guys had a great anniversary!
ReplyDeleteLove the post, Noelle! I am impressed with Lily and Ava going to all that work for your anniversary. None of my children did anything like that for my anniversary when they were that age. I like that they thought Cory's best clothes were jeans and a t-shirt! HAHA! And the pictures were great - it was like going down memory lane! I was struck by a few of them because I never noticed how sometimes you actually look like me! CRAZY?! Love you guys and although Cory was inconsiderate to take all of you guys to the other side of the world, we are glad he's a part of our family and think he's a super great guy!
ReplyDeleteAlso, this post will be great to use when your girls are teenagers and they think you guys are mean horrible parents. You can use it to remind them how much they used to love you guys! Just saying. :)
