Christmas Break

Before Christmas break we had talked about taking Cory's time off and exploring more of Australia.  He was all big talk, but when it came down to it, he went all cheap skate on us and we ended up spending the holidays in Kalgoorlie.  Which wasn't too bad.  :)  Even though I was depressed I wasn't soaking up the sun on a beautiful beach somewhere it was nice to just relax and enjoy our free time here.  And hopefully we'll make it to the beach again before the end of the summer.  :)

We did a lot of swimming.  But I hardly ever take pictures of that because I'm, well, swimming!  :)

Here's a few.  Will all ready to go.
 Lily testing the water.

It has been so nice having a pool!!!  It gets so hot and I know I would just die without it!  :)  Provides daily entertainment, that is for sure.
So Will is in love with Toy Story.  He has been watching a lot of all three.  Good thing they are such good movies or I would be going crazy!  Anyways, as a result of Toy Story 3, both girls thought their girl Barbies needed a Ken.  However, there were slim pickings for Ken dolls here in the shops.  So I had to get fashion Ken and Beach Ken.  I was devastated I couldn't find the classic Ken with plastic hair.  Man, I miss that guy. Anyway, so we got these freaky looking guys with weird hair.  Long story made longer, sorry, Ava was upset her Ken didn't have any proper clothes to wear, just a bathing suit.  So we got creative and made this awesome outfit for good  old beach Ken!  I could not stop cracking up about it!!!  But I will tell you, the girls play with their Barbies and doll house 100 times more than before.  Who knew they just needed Ken?
While we were at it, Lily designed and sewed this awesome Barbie dress, all by herself!  Pretty impressive, huh?

Aunt Joslyn made and sent these cute aprons for the girls for Christmas.  Love them!
Here is Ava having a tea party with her Lala Loopsy dolls.
Ava has been planning a picnic at the park with her tea set ever since she wanted one.  So we tried to leave super early one morning to have one before it got too hot.

 Here's the picnic set up.

We did some playing and eating.

Grandma Kris sent over these beautiful, bright dresses for the girls.  Here they are modeling them.

We had a girls afternoon one Sunday afternoon complete with mani/pedis. It was amazing!  When we were doing it Lily said, I didn't know this was going to be this fun!  I think I've got her sold.  I will look forward to many girls nights when they are teenagers of getting actual mani/pedis!
Haha, can you tell which foot Ava did and which foot Lily did?
We did a lot more swimming and Popsicle eating.

We had some friends over.  The kids put on an awesome dance party.
I took the girls took the girls to see Frozen.  We were all in love.  I wish there was such thing as a dollar theater here.  Heck, I wish there was such thing as an $8.75 theater, or matinee prices. But there isn't so we will just have to wait until  it comes out on video and buy it!

Lastly, I just wanted to show how many Christmas cards the girls got from classmates.  They don't do Valentines here, but the giving of Christmas cards is just like Valentines.  Here are just a few.

That's pretty much most of our happenings during Christmas break.
