Will and I took a walk one evening around the neighborhood and checked out all the Christmas lights. Will was a huge fan of "Chrispen lights" as he called them. Love that kid!
I really liked the kangaroos.
Here are the kids enjoying some more of their advent calendar count down gifts. These ones Grandma Rappleye sent. Thanks, grandma. :)
We were out shopping and came upon this little display. :)
This is Lily's end of the year concert. Her class sang "The Bear Necessities" She knew all the words and can sing it like a pro. All the years sang a different Disney song so it was fun for the kids to listen to. But it was so long!!! And I totally couldn't see Lily. But that is okay, we took off early, the kids had just had it, well, mostly Will had had it and unfortunately, Cory was working late that night, so I was alone, so I just left. I felt bad leaving early, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
This is Ava and some friends playing during the concert.
Here's Lily's group, and honestly through the whole performance, I could not find her!!!
But here is the cute Lily bear after the performance. We went and got ice cream cones at Macca's afterwards. I was feeling the Christmas spirit and paid for the people behind me, something I've never done before, but it was fun! The MacDonald's employee was super surprised that I would do that for a stranger, and the people behind me honked and waved a thank you. I hope it spurred a chain reaction.
Friday, December 13th, we were able to get our scan for our baby!!!! It was so fun and exciting. Here's the little darling. We had the lady put the gender in an envelope, then we went shopping and picked out a blue and pink onsie, that were the same price and asked the checker to look in the envelope and gift wrap the color that the gender is. It was so fun! The next day we had a party to reveal what we were having.
But first the girls had a couple birthday parties to go to. The first one was for our very dear friend, Annabelle Gregor. She was turning 5 but she could have been getting married. That's how extravagant her party was. I'm kidding, well, partly kidding. Here is Lily getting her face painted by Angie the Face paint Fairy. She was amazing!
Here's Lil decorating a cookie.
Ava's turn to get face painted.
Here's Ava with the birthday girl, Annabelle. See what I mean about it being a wedding???
From there, we moved on to the next birthday party, for a little girl in Ava's school class, named Taiah. It had all sorts of water fun in their backyard and Ava's face paint was gone! But it was fun while it lasted. Lily didn't want to mess up her face paint, and I didn't bring her swimsuit because only Ava was supposed to go, but I didn't have time between parties to drop Lily off. Anyways, it was a super hot day, I wanted to get in the kiddie pool and go down the bouncy water slide. But instead, I just sat in my own sweat eating tons of mini cupcakes that Lily kept decorating for me. Ugh!
It was a pretty wild party, but it was fun to get to know some of Ava's class mates moms better. It's really weird here, unless specified, you're not supposed to just drop your kids off at a birthday party. It is expected that you will also stay and socialize. It's really bizarre. But that is okay. Like I said, it gives me a chance to socialize as well.
When we got home, I jumped straight in the pool. It felt so good!! Then that night we had my birthday party/gender reveal party.
It was a great night with lots of good food. We even tried crocodile, which was quite nice. My friend, Julia brought this huge box of 100 chocolates! It weighs a whole kilogram!!!
Here's Lily enjoying the chocolates.
The next December event was my birthday. :) It was a really nice birthday. I went to lunch with some girlfriends and then went to Lily's end of school year party. After school we swam and then Cory and I went out to dinner that night. It was fabulous!! A lot of times growing up with a winter birthday, I always wished for a summer one. I never even thought in my wildest dreams it could be possible. But here I am, my second warm weather birthday in a row! It doesn't change the fact that it is a week before Christmas, which was never super awesome, but at least I can enjoy summer time activities on my birthday. :)
This was the temperature at about 9 am on my birthday. :) Pretty warm!
Here is Lily all dressed up like an American for her around the world party. When she said she wanted to go as an American, I was stumped on what food to bring and how to dress her. But we came up with this awesome outfit and we made little pumpkin pies, that I heard were delicious, but I couldn't bring myself to eat one, it just sounded so gross to me. Fickle pregnant tummy! But I had quite a few witnesses that it was tasty. Including Lillian's teachers. :)
By the time school was out, it was a bit windy and a storm was rolling in, but I thought, we still gotta do it! It's my birthday!!! And so we swam until we heard thunder. :)
Will's always trying to jump in with his clothes on. :)
The wind was blowing leaves in like crazy, and the pool was due for a clean anyway!
That night it rained and it rained for days after wards, which I didn't mind because it's the only way that I felt Christmasy here was when it was rainy or overcast. So it got me in the holiday mood to actually bake and make presents for people. :)
We'll end this super lengthy post here. More to come from December. :)
