The Super Pit

With Sara here in town, it's got me trying to find out what there is to see around here.   The Super Pit is certainly a must see in Kalgoorlie.  Now, being from South Jordan, where the largest open pit mine in the world is just a few miles up the road, it is a little hard to compete with that.  But, the Super Pit here is still quite impressive, and it was actually fun that we could see what the trucks and diggers were doing.  And the Kalgoorlie Super Pit is the largest open pit mine in the Southern hemisphere, so that's something.  The kids had a great time also.

Here is Will in a hurry to see all the cool man stuff!
Here is a huge dump truck bucket, Ava thought it was a boat.
 A photo with Aunty Sara.
Here are some other cool old mining equipment.
Not sure exactly what these things are...but we can imagine, right?  Any guesses?

This was what we got when we said smile...isn't that a cute face???
Now on to the super pit!
Here we all are checking it out.  (Man, it is great to have a live in nanny and photographer!  So many perks to having Sara around!)
There was this huge bucket for a digger that the kids loved.

With Aunty Sara again!  Isn't this thing massive??
Cute one of all the kiddos!
Here's a side view, Sara thinks it looks like a huge mouth ready to chomp up Ava.
A few more in the bucket, we hung out there for a while! I think my kids are in a lot of tourists photos! LOL!

We had fun playing on the huge tyres (this is how it is spelled in Australia, so I thought I'd better!)

Here we are at the actual look out point.

As we were looking down in, Ava said, hey who left their toys here?  Haha!  That's how small the diggers and trucks looked!
And that about covers our visit to

(finish the sentence with the picture! LOL!)
