Finally, night came and we were ready to celebrate. The kids put on a stirring version of the nativity. The first Christmas night. Ava as angel, Lily as Mary, Will as Joseph and Sofie as a shepherd girl.
The whole cast. I love these kids!
Fear not! For I bring you glad tidings of great joy!
Following our nativity reenactment, the girls played some Christmas songs for us.
Then we tried for a group selfie in front of the tree.
Then the kids got all set up for their sleep over in the girls room. Cory and I watched my favorite dorky holiday flick of all time, "The Mistle-tones" and sometime in the night Santa came by.
Christmas morning came! Our home teachers had challenged us and the kids to say our prayers before opening our presents. It was fun to hear the kids up in the girls room pray before coming down to see their spoils.
Needless to say, the kids were on the nice list this year.
After that whirlwind morning, we quickly got ready for church where we were truly spiritually fed and uplifted by the true spirit of Christmas. Our ward ended with an amazingly spiritual rendition of Silent Night. It was wonderful.
Then back home again and back to business!
Everyone was enjoying their spoils. We were also blessed with a truly magical snowfall. It was a wonderful Christmas. Full of joy and laughter. And frosted window panes.
