I cannot tell you how happy I am that I went and got that true, authentic Kalgoorlie experience, especially since it was so close to me leaving there for good as well. It was incredible and fantastic! The people watching was amazing and the company that I was with was good too! It really was a great night!
Here I am with Cassie, the lady of the night. This was our first drink of the night at Paddy's. I have my lemon lime and Cassie has her champagne.
From Paddy's we moved next door to the Exchange Hotel where there was a live band and (gasp) skimpies! Skimpies are a big thing in Kalgoorlie, almost every bar has them. Some bars they go completely topless, but lucky for me, at the Exchange they were just walking around in their underwear...very small underwear!!! But they were behind the bar and since I wasn't ordering any drinks I never had to ever look in that direction if I didn't want to. :) More of Cassie's friends joined us later. Here's everyone except Stacy.
Cassie is Tallulah Mae's mom, Tallulah Mae is one of Ava's very best friends from her school class. We saw Ava and Tallulah's school teacher at the bar! Miss Parrott! She happened to be there with Lily's school teacher Miss Blackwell. And then later that night I saw Lily's year one teacher, Miss Jones there as well! That was a trip for me!! It's hard to imagine that your kids school teachers have any life at all outside of teaching, let alone one where they get smashed every weekend at the Exchange!!! I do have to say though they were the cutest single ladies there!
Here's me and Stacy coming back from one of her many bathroom trips!!!
Here's me with my Diet Coke! So I never drink alcohol and sadly enough I almost never drink caffeine! But since I was designated driver and it appeared these ladies would be going late into the night, I fueled up a bit so I wouldn't totally crash since I'm usually in bed asleep by 10 pm most nights!!! Plus I really couldn't think of anything else to order when they kept asking me if they could buy me a drink!
Stacy was the best!!! She was just dancing away, no inhibitions whatsoever! I cannot tell you how happy I am to have made this awesome lady's acquaintance!!
Lindsey and her friend....oh dear, I already don't remember her name!
You'd think I was drinking based on the photos, but no, this is my normal! ;)
I joined Stacy in dancing most of the night, but it was a little harder for me since I was fully aware of how ridiculous I looked!!
Poor Cassie, since she was leaving and the get together was in her honor everyone kept buying her new drinks before she had finished the last one! I didn't realize that the goal was to get her completely hammered!!!
From the Exchange,we bar hopped yet again, going across the street to the Gold Bar. We hung out there for a while and I decided to just sit down and wait. Lindsey and her friend joined me. We had one weak attempt of someone asking us to dance which we all refused. :) I think that Stacy would have been happy to go all night, but after she fell down for the second time around 1:45 am, I decided to call it and I drove them all home.
It seriously was an awesome night. Happy to do it only once! :) I can't believe that that is what people do every weekend or every night! After experiencing something like that, it always makes me even more grateful for the knowledge of the gospel and the commandments that we have to protect us and keep us safe and happy. I know I am so lucky to have a testimony of this gospel and to be able to own it and stay true to it. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior very much! It's funny that I'm ending this post with my testimony since, strangely enough, that is how I ended that night as well. While I was driving Stacy home, she was becoming a very reflective drunk and was asking me questions about God. And while I doubt she remembers any of our conversation, I felt the spirit as I bore testimony of a loving, caring God who is our Father and is mindful of her and me and every person on this planet.
Couldn't have asked for a better girls night out in true authentic Kalgoorlie fashion. :)

What a good friend and example! :)
