Lily bug Turns 7!!!

On June 13th, 2014 our Lily turned 7!!!  Say what?!?! Everyone warned me when Lily was born that it would go by so quickly.  They all said you would blink and suddenly your baby would be all grown.  As a new stay at home mom, I had a hard time comprehending what they meant, because everyday with just me and Lily at home together felt like a million years long!  But now that my baby Lily has turned 7, and it seems to have happened over night, I get it!!  Ava reminded me just the other day that her and Lily were junior teenagers and were practically grown!

Lily is the biggest sweetheart of a girl.  She is thoughtful, kind, and smart.  She is and always has been very articulate.  She is a sensitive girl with lots of feelings and she is very good at expressing those feelings.  Lily loves reading and writing.  Her poems and musings are things to be treasured.  I love all that she writes down and her creative spelling is always entertaining.  Lily enjoys reading chapter books, among some of her favorites are the Tashi stories and the Weather Fairies collection.  Lily is a friend to all and continues to have the best sense of humor.  She is very perceptive and picks up on far more than I think she should.  Lily loves Wreck it Ralph, Despicable Me 2, and Tangled.  Her favorite food is hamburgers and candy!  Lily loves playing Barbie with Ava and they could do it for hours! We love her oh so much and wouldn't trade her for anything in the world!!!  Happy birthday, Lily bug!!!!

Here's Lily handing out cupcakes to her class for her birthday.

Here are Lily and Ava getting all ready to decorate Lily's birthday cake, that Lily designed herself.  :)

 It's a Barbie Fairy cake!

I love the dress Lily put on the Barbie.
Lily and Will snuggling while waiting for the party to start.
Lily's birthday dinner of spaghetti and salt and vinegar chips!  Lily's choice!
 Cake time!

Sofie just passed out and slept through the whole thing!
 Present time!

Ava put on her roller skates right after she found out that Lily got some....
 Roller blades!  Oh yeah!
Lily put the candles in her cake....I thought the placement was interesting!  ;)

Cool girl in her rollerblading get up!

We ended the fun night with a sleep over on the pull out couch!  So fun!
We love our 7 year old girl, Lily!

May Mayhem

The rest of May wasn't as much fun as the beginning.  You know when you've been waiting for something to happen and then it does and then it's over, it's such a depressing let down?  But we carried on none the less!  :)

Here's Sofie wearing her super stylish boots for church.

Here's Sofie at 6 weeks.  Such a cutie!

Wanted a picture of this little chubby snuggling with me!  I love her!

Ava got her first award at assembly.

It was cold on the day of the assembly so I bundled Sofie up.  Look how cute she is???  I love those lips!!!

We spend a lot of time at the chapel...whether it's for my young women's activities, a baptism, or waiting for dad to finish his bishop duties we are there a lot!  So I thought I'd snap a pic of one of the many times the kids were patiently waiting around.  :)

Speaking of baptisms, here is Sofie all dressed up for one.
I sure love my fat face little Fifi!!

So I decided it was haircut time for Will again...and I had a lady coming over to do mine so I thought why not have her just quickly do Will's also?  What a disaster that was!  He was in an all out head banging tantrum when the hairdresser decided to go for it!!  So needless to say, it turned out to be yet another terrible haircut!!!  And sadly, I had to pay for this one!

Oh, it's a terrible haircut!  If only we could purchase a good set of clippers and just buzz the dang thing every time.  We've bought probably three or four pairs of clippers, all terrible!  Our friends said they found some good ones, for $150!  So if we end up staying, I'm buying some!!!  It's totally worth it!
Since the girls swimming lessons, they have been dying to go do a free swim at the Oasis, especially Ava!  So I made them make a behavior chart and get it all filled up with stickers, then we were able to go swimming at the Oasis.  It was so fun!  And kids 5 and under are free, so it was a deal!!

Sofie loved her first swim!  It helps that the water was like bath water, nice and warm!
Sofie started smiling!  It is adorable!

Will loves to hold his baby sister.

Not so sure if Sofie loves it though!
But she is a nice girl and tolerates it.  :)

Lily received another award.  :) She is such a good student!

That wraps up our May Mayhem.

It's so hard to say Goodbye!

Well, Sunday came all too quickly and it was time to say goodbye to grandma!  We so enjoyed her visit and it made us realize how nothing beats family and we have been away from ours for way too long!!!  It will be nice to be back home again, or even if our next adventure takes us somewhere besides home, we hope and pray it is a somewhere else that is easier and more affordable to be able to go home for a visit!

We did enjoy church and dinner at the stake presidents house before grandma had to be to the airport.  The girls both started vomiting right before grandma had to go, so she was leaving just in time!  That is not fun!  I'm sure glad she didn't get sick from them right before her massively long flight!  That would be one way to make that flight more miserable than it already is....vomiting the whole way or doing it alone with three kids, both terrible ways to spend the flight from Perth to Salt Lake or vice versa!

Anyways, we love you, grandma and hope to see you soon!

Now, Sofie wore her blessing dress again and she looked so cute I had to get some pictures of her!  But those are the only pics I took on our last day with grandma! So here is a Sofie overload!

I can't get over how gorgeous her dress turned out either!  What a darling!

Love me some cross eyes!  So cute!

This is making me miss my small Sofie!  She is so not small anymore!:/

The next morning, kids were sick and depressed that grandma had gone and that our Perth trip was over.  But we still had to make it to the U.S. Embassy to get Sofie's paper work done so she could come back to America with us one day.  So we rushed around cleaning the place we stayed, rushed to downtown Perth, with pukey Ava and barely made it to our appointment on time.  All went well once we arrived and Sofie is now a proud American citizen!
